Job Description

Assist the Electric Operations and Engineering department for the continuity of line service, meter maintenance, inventory, and construction functions to meet the cooperative’s objectives. This is a Bargaining Unit Position.

Essential Job Functions: 

• Consult with the Technical Services Supervisor and the Purchasing Coordinator on daily work assignments and instructions. 
• Assist with warehouse duties, deliveries, documentation, organization of inventory, and acts as a backup when they are out of office. 
• Assist with meter inquiries and AMI meter issues while maintaining an adequate stock of meter bases, meters, and meter inventory supplies. 
• Operate various vehicles, equipment, and machinery.

Qualifications

Ability to: 

• Read simple schematics and drawings
• Communicate with coworkers, customers, and vendors in a professional manner
• Possess basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
• Record necessary information on time sheets, work orders, and any other source documents 
• Attend all job safety and specialized training as required

Education and Experience: 

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Possess a valid Indiana Class A with Tanker Endorsement Commercial Driver's License or be able to obtain within six months of employment and be able to operate all cooperative Vehicles
• Previous inventory management experience preferred but not required 

Working Conditions: 

• Must be willing to work under all weather conditions
• Must be willing to travel away from home for technical schools
• Must be willing to work outside of business hours as required

Residency Requirements: 

• Operating Policy states that all trades and crafts employees who are subject to emergency "Call-in" duty must reside within a 15 mile radius (bona fide residence) of the Central Indiana Power service territory
