Job Description

In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and/or maintaining one or more accounting systems.  

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Provide overall management of the accounting function to ensure accurate GL account balances, PP&E, inventory and working capital for each actual period closing and forecast.
  • Manage monthly reconciliations of all GL balances and provide oversight for the correct accounting treatment of all plant specific transactions.
  • Maintain oversight and review of all accounting Journal Entries to ensure compliance to IFRS and Corporate Standards.
  • Manage and ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all plant specific Accounts Payable (AP) issues.
  • Manage and ensure accurate accounting of fixed and current assets.
  • Manage the implementation of common standard corporate accounting processes and procedures as directed from the Central Accounting function in the Americas and/or Corporate HQ.
  • Provide accurate, timely and transparent reporting of the financial performance of the plant. Adopt standardized SAP reports used by Tire Cost Systems.
  • Propose methods and programs for improving accounting systems and processes in the plant. Recommend measures to improve the financial results of the Clinton plant.
  • Coordinate and support external and internal audits and afterwards lead the audit finding corrections process with necessary actions.
  • Provide Leadership and Integrity as the financial and compliance voice at the Clinton plant.
  • Training, development, and management of accounting team.
  • Local Key User for SAP- Financial Accounting (FI) Module, which encompasses the recording, summarizing, and reporting of financial transactions for Clinton Truck Tire Plant.
  • Participate in inventory counts
  • Perform other duties as directed by Head of Controlling & Accounting.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to understand and apply General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Highly organized, analytical person, able to work independently with others and communicate effectively.
  • FI SAP experience
  • Advanced Excel level
  • Oriented towards delivering high quality services and results.

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT

  • CPA / CMA / MBA preferred
  • previous experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in CO SAP modules
  • Operational controlling and/or cost accounting experience are a plus.
