Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Botanist to join our Rocky Hill, CT office to learn and work with a team of talented environmental professionals and apply their academic knowledge in the environmental field. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on selected projects, as well as part of a collaborative team on various larger projects.  AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The position may also include field team management, project management, data analysis, and report writing.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conducting botanical surveys for state- and federal-listed plant species, jurisdictional wetland delineations in CT and New England States.
  • Habitat/plant community assessment and related natural resources field work.
  • Permitting support.
  • Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
  • Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
  • Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures.
  • Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.
