The Senior Analyst, International Transportation – Green Coffee is responsible for managing the international transportation network supporting Starbucks' globally sourced green coffee. This role ensures the efficient movement of coffee from origin through destination while balancing service, cost, capacity, and supply chain resiliency. The Senior Analyst serves as the transportation subject matter expert for green coffee logistics, partnering cross-functionally with:
- Planning
- Starbucks Coffee Trading Company
- Green Coffee Operations
- Green Coffee Quality
- Finance
- External logistics providers
This position combines operational execution with strategic analysis, leveraging transportation data, market intelligence, and carrier partnerships to proactively identify risks, optimize network performance, and support continuous improvement across the global green coffee supply chain
As a Senior Analyst, Global Transportation, you will…
- Lead international transportation operations for green coffee shipments, ensuring reliable movement from origin to global destinations.
- Manage ocean freight execution across multiple trade lanes, partnering with carriers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and control towers to maintain service, capacity, and transit performance.
- Monitor shipping demand, capacity trends, and transportation risks, developing mitigation strategies to protect coffee supply and business continuity.
- Support carrier strategy, routing optimization, network planning, and transportation sourcing initiatives.
- Analyze transportation performance and communicate operational risks, market conditions, and network insights through dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.
- Partner cross-functionally to enhance reporting, drive data-informed decision-making, and support supply chain resiliency initiatives.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on service, visibility, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Serve as the transportation subject matter expert, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex logistics challenges and support strategic network initiatives.
We’d love to hear from people with:
5+ years of experience in international transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, or global supply chain operations.
Experience supporting agricultural commodities, food & beverage, or CPG supply chains.
Knowledge of global ocean transportation markets, carrier capacity planning, and network optimization.
Experience with transportation sourcing, carrier performance management, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Familiarity with real-time visibility platforms and supply chain analytics tools.
