You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and security, partnering with developers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to design and implement secure systems and tools. Through technical capstones, hackathons, and hands-on projects, you’ll strengthen your technical expertise while building your ability to collaborate, influence, and lead.
The Technology Leadership Program is a two-year rotational development experience designed for graduating students ready to begin their careers in technology. Participants complete three eight-month rotations across Risk & Security Engineering-focused teams, gaining exposure to areas such as secure software development, DevSecOps, identity and access management, and vulnerability remediation - while increasing ownership, responsibility, and leadership capability over time.
In this program, you will:
- Design, build, and enhance secure applications and systems across Vanguard’s technology environment
- Contribute to implementing security controls and best practices within software, platforms, and infrastructure
- Assist in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in applications and systems
- Build tools, automations, or processes that improve security and operational efficiency
- Partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions
- Gain exposure to secure software development practices, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity concepts
- Apply Agile methodologies to support development and security initiatives
- Take ownership of projects and contribute to delivering high-impact outcomes
- Collaborate across teams, share insights, and drive solutions in a supportive environment
- Build a network with program managers, alumni, senior leaders, and peers
- Meet regularly with your department manager and program manager to receive personalized coaching and mentorship
What it takes:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with a concentration in computer science, computer engineering, IST, IT, CIS, Security, Risk, Cybersecurity or related technical/engineering subject matter required
- Strong interest in software engineering with a focus on security and system protection
- Familiarity with programming concepts and a willingness to learn secure coding practices
- Demonstrated leadership potential, initiative, and ability to take ownership of work
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred
