Job Responsibilities
- Works in partnership with the senior management of the area/s and central Human Resources to provide expertise and consultation on all HR related issues. Plays a key leadership role with the primary responsibility for developing a collaborative process assuring the quality and continued development of programs and services
- Advises and consults with managers and supervisors on job design, job classification, and salary administration to ensure fair and competitive pay practices
- Oversees the hiring process; coordinates hiring requests for new and replacement positions; provides consultation on salary setting for new hires and promotions. Assesses staff training and development needs, coordinates training and development programs and the new employee orientation program for the area/s. Oversees staff relations for the assigned area. Assists in benefits administration.
- Provides analysis and recommendations to management regarding general HR policies and procedures; develops HR guidelines and procedures which are consistent with University guidelines and in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Provides guidance in the development and dissemination of human resources information to the assigned area/s in collaboration with central information providers (Human Resources, Finance, Provost etc.)
