UPM Raflatac is looking for a Sustainability Manager located in Asheville, NC at our Biltmore Park office location.

What you will do
- Generate business value, competitive advantage, and a thought-leader profile for UPM by leveraging our leading sustainability performance
- Contribute to our global sustainability strategy and its execution in the Americas Region
- Lead and execute the sustainability agenda in the Americas Region in collaboration with key stakeholders to generate business growth
- Lead Regional commercialization of sustainability, including commercializing products and services
- Develop resources and facilitate training to support our go-to-market approach and commercialization efforts
- Continually develop existing relationships with customers, brands and the Sales Team to optimize collaboration and extrapolate value out of these partnerships
- Become the Subject Matter Expert on sustainable labeling and promote UPM and sustainable labeling in various external and internal forums
- Consistently engaging with relevant industry associations and with global sustainability stakeholders at UPM
Who you are
- You have 5+ years of work experience, with a focus on sustainability, business development and/or product packaging
- You have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Business, etc.
- You have a general understanding of circularity, climate change, sustainable product design and other key sustainability topics. Consumer packaged goods or packaging industry knowledge or experience is a plus. Working experience within international companies is an asset
- You are comfortable collaborating with executive leaders and speaking in front of an audience (virtually and in person)
- You are passionate when it comes to sustainability and engaging stakeholders
- You are savvy in commercial situations and negotiations
- You can take complex concepts and communicate them clearly to others
- You have a motivated, proactive, and result-orientated way of working. You work well individually and in teams. You are adept at organizing, open to change, and skilled in project coordination
- You are fluent in spoken and written English, with good knowledge of grammatical rules. Spanish is an asset
