Business Intelligence Analyst, New Business Operations

Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst ensures that AAA Life Insurance makes effective business and operational decisions. Your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios, tracking performance metrics or building metrics that matter, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. You'll assist individual projects, as well as provide planning and reporting support.

 

This position will work closely with our internal teams and customers in the areas of operational and financial analysis. It requires strong analytic skills, technical aptitude, ability to communicate effectively, and a passion for continuous improvement. Our ideal candidate can wear many hats, has an analytical mind, desire to understand the business, strong communication skills, and has technical skills to bring solutions to life. This position’s responsibilities include a wide range of development, administration, and ad hoc analytical work.

Responsibilities

• Access and leverage data from across various areas of the organization to develop automated, easy to understand reports and ad hoc analyses that effectively answer questions, identify patterns and highlight operational metrics across the organization.
• Assist with analyzing data to evaluate process effectiveness and performance across multiple dimensions.
• Help to develop and execute processes that leverage statistical methods, scenario planning, and model development to optimize business outcomes. 
• Proactively seek out new opportunities to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve internal processes. Work with cross-functional team members to analyze business impact.
• Build presentations, dashboards, and scorecards for leadership and internal executives based on analytics.
• Actively participate in data transformation projects. Development of critical data flows from various sources to reports with a focus on automation and standardization
• Support the development, implementation, testing, documentation, and on-going validation of reporting and data processes in support of organizational KPI’s/metrics/etc.
• Provide support in the development and implementation of the annual sales planning metrics as it impacts resources and staffing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field.
• Previous experience working in an analytics, planning, or operations role.
• Intermediate experience in PowerBI, Excel. Formulas, vlookups, and formatting is preferred.
• Previous experience analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources.
• Previous experience using SQL, Python, or a similar tool to analyze data and present results preferred.
• Data visualization, dashboarding, and querying expertise preferred.
• Diverse analytical experience that can be applied across multiple lines of business or departments.
