About the role:
This Strategic Business Manager is responsible for working with multiple internal stakeholders within Boston Scientific Surgical & Airway Endoscopy business as a strategic liaison who cross-functionally collaborates with the Endoscopy Division. The Strategic Development Manager (SDM) position will articulate the market and divisional needs necessary to sustain/expand market leadership and accelerate revenue growth, most immediately within the SpyGlass Discover, Endoscopic Suturing and Systems, Endobariatric Systems, and iNod. This person will report directly to the AVP of Sales of the Surgical and Airway Division.
Your responsibilities will include:
SAE Commercial Leadership Team Involvement
- Partnership and participation in the SAE Commercial Leadership Team representing all Surgical, Interventional Radiology and Interventional Pulmonary call points. Bring forth headwinds/tailwinds from the field that will help define possible marketing and/or sales training needs. (ie. EIC event, VOE videos/collateral, VOC portfolio needs, etc.)
- Continuous assessment and analysist of trends and market needs which will inform the development of recommendations and proposed solutions to accelerate revenue growth.
- Work with SAE Management team (all functions) to understand and define regional marketing and/or training needs that will help accelerate revenue growth. (ie. TM tutorials, Virtual lectures, Hands-on Training, etc.)
SpyGlass Discover
- Partner internally with Marketing (Market Development Managers, Product Management, Surgical Endoscopy Channel Manager), Professional Education, HEMA, Strategic Imaging Group and Sales Training on commercial strategy, messaging and training initiatives.
- Work with Professional Affairs and Marketing to identify top education needs, faculty and meaningful Surgical Society engagements to accelerate growth in Discover Scopes/Devices.
- Lead specific projects – define and execute Discover programs with the stated goal to increase Laparoscopic Transcystic CBDE procedures.
Endoscopic Suturing and Endobariatrics
- Develop and lead the SAE strategy as it relates Discover, Complication Management and Endobariatrics within the Bariatric Surgeon specialty.
- Facilitate GI/SAE/BES/REM communication and collaboration best practices to SAE commercial team.
iNOD Peripheral Nodule System
- Work with Product Manager to facilitate TM tutorials and potential case knowledge and coverage across the Division.
Required qualifications:
- BA/BS degree required (Business degree preferred)
- Experience with sales and marketing databases (i.e. SalesForce)
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to execute multifunctional collaboration
- Ability to build/create immediate rapport
- Self-driven and able to work independently
- Detail-oriented with proven ability to be organized, persistent and analytical.
- 50% travel required
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in medical device sales and marketing (Product Management and Field Based Marketing roles) within the Operating Room (Surgeons), the Radiology suite (Interventional Radiologists), Pulmonary Departments (Interventional Pulmonologists) and the GI Lab (Gastroenterologists)
- Project management experience
