What’s the role

We are seeking a driven Emotional Support Classroom Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Candidates for this position do NOT need to speak Hebrew. The school is eager to consider applications from traditionally underrepresented groups.

What you’ll do 

The classroom counselor is committed to supporting students with emotional disabilities and other health impairments to gain academic and behavioral success in the special education and general education setting.  Duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Ability to implement small group academic supports
  • Ability to teach and reinforce appropriate positive behaviors
  • Ability to de-escalate and manage student in crisis
  • Ability to collaborate with general and special education teachers to implement Positive Behavior Supports for student with Emotional Support needs
  • Ability to work as a team member to create and reinforce a healthy classroom culture for staff and students. 
  • Completing other identified tasks
  • Detail-oriented and committed to collect specified behavioral data to support student programming
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
