Director, Business Intelligence

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and automate reports, solving for the Business Intelligence (BI) and analytical needs of a wide range of stakeholders. Work with stakeholders to establish the right metrics for monitoring the business.
  2. Interpret business data and analyze results to provide ongoing reports.
  3. Lead and manage data science, data engineering, and data analyst teams to deliver high-quality data-driven projects.
  4. Provide analytical and data-driven decision-making support for key projects.
  5. Gather functional requirements and work closely with engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions to stakeholders.
  6. Communicate findings on a regular basis to all levels of business and management.
  7. Help train internal and external stakeholders on utilizing reporting tools and analyzing results effectively.
  8. Define and implement standards for data management and conceive projects needed to eliminate the gap between current state and future goals.

Requirements

  1. BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or other technical fields. Advanced degrees preferred.
  2. 10+ years of experience in data-oriented roles, with a focus on leading data science and data engineering teams.
  3. Experience in SQL and familiarity with other programming languages.
  4. Proficiency with MicroStrategy, business intelligence tool
  5. Demonstrated success when working cross-functionally and can translate technical content to a general audience.
  6. Deep understanding of Data Management and the data lifecycle.
  7. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  9. An interest in technology and a willingness to learn new skills and tools.
  10. Flexibility to accept a wide range of responsibilities in our innovative and entrepreneurial environment.
  11. Highly motivated, self-starter that can operate under minimal supervision and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
