RegiStar Student Guide Team Lead-Student Worker

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
As a RegiStar Student Guide Team Lead, you are a key veteran on our team who helps keep our operations running smoothly while creating a welcoming environment. In addition to providing front-desk, phone, and email support, you will spend a portion of your weekly hours mentoring new guides, sharing insights to optimize workflows, and taking initiative to make day-to-day office processes more efficient for everyone.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Mentor & Support Peers:
- Serve as an approachable guide for incoming student staff by helping train, shadow, and answer shift questions so new hires can learn from your experience.
- Optimize Workflows & Convenience:
- Identify ways to strengthen daily office processes, refine student FAQs, and increase overall efficiency across administrative tasks.
- Model Great Service & Work Ethic:
- Handle standard inquiries with enthusiasm across all channels, stepping in to help peers navigate trickier requests while maintaining a positive attitude through every task.
- Contribute to Office Operations:
- Assist staff with light scheduling support, priority desk coverage, and high-impact mini-projects that improve the student experience.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Demonstrated Track Record:
- Prior successful experience in the Registrar’s Office (or a similar campus role) showing reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
- Coaching & Approachability:
- Natural ability to encourage peers, foster a healthy team environment, and share knowledge.
- Reliability & Sound Judgment:
- Exceptional dependability, strong FERPA compliance, and poise during busy desk hours.
- Proactive Mindset:
- A genuine interest in contributing to office efficiency and solving challenges collaboratively.
