Job Description

The role requires an individual who has a proven track record of analysing and solving problems, excellent interpersonal skills and can work in a high paced challenging environment.  To perform well within these roles, candidates must possess strong competency in the following areas: written and verbal communications, working with people, analysing and problem solving, organising work, and achieving objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading projects to investigate and understand the evolution of offshore transmission networks

• Support the delivery in partnership with the specialist Offshore design firm the technical and/or commercial offshore projects designed to meet stakeholder needs in line with company requirements
• Communicate effectively to customers and business stakeholders, including senior management team, via meetings, presentations, and reports
• Analyse industry and market trends and determine their potential impact

Support the Offshore Capital Delivery Programme Director in:

• Developing a vision of the future offshore transmission network for Ireland and Northern Ireland
• Scoping, consulting, and analysing future energy scenarios for offshore
• Understanding policy commitments, macro-economic strategy, regulatory dynamics, electricity markets and offshore operations
• Collating responses to consultations on future offshore infrastructure and markets
• Engagement with key stakeholders that may include government departments, regulators, industry bodies, European partners, and other stakeholders
• Implementing project management in support of the future offshore network programme and consultancy contracts
• Lead Offshore readiness in preparation for EPC contractor
• Advising on construction methodology for offshore assets (OSS and subsea cabling)
• Management of preconstruction offshore activities (including survey team)

Qualifications

• Relevant technical or management degree or equivalent
• Professionally qualified and membership of relevant professional institution / body (preferred)

Knowledge

• Knowledge of best practice in project management, teamworking and collaboration, risk management and stakeholder management
• Understanding of business case development, programme financing, programme governance, programme assurance
• Understanding of change management and organisation development
• Awareness of power systems, offshore wind technology and grid connection infrastructure (preferred)

Skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders from technical and non-technical audience
• Management and performance report writing and review of technical consultations
• Communication skills - able to communicate complex technical information
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commercial awareness

Experience:

• 10-15 years’ professional experience
• Experience in development and delivery of projects in complex environments
