BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR), Returns Processing Administration (RPA). The incumbent is responsible for assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinate chiefs and immediate staff; planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations; planning and carrying out the training and development of employees; evaluating employees’ work performance; and performing all related administrative functions. The incumbent is also responsible for strategic planning for the Returns Processing Administration, including budget needs, and staffing; managing the lockbox contract and work products; IT system support; and other contracting vehicles needed to accomplish the strategic goals of RPA. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Examples of duties

Eight (8) years of progressive experience, to include two (2) years of managerial experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as planning, administering, and executing work operations or programs in either a mail and payment processing center or tax returns processing unit; developing policies and procedures; preparing reports; and improving internal processes to enhance operational efficiency and customer service. Knowledge of tax codes, regulations, and policies as it relates to tax returns and technical tax information in order to ensure accurate distribution and processing preferred.

Qualifications

Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
