Position Summary


The Strategy & Business Development – Lead Director  will play a pivotal role in accelerating the value derived from the Collaborative Marketing Gateway (CMG), our consumer insights partnerships (Circana, Numerator), and our merchandising standards strategy. This position will optimize the performance of over 800 annual projects delivered by Circana and Numerator contractors. This role will develop and execute robust tracking systems while ensuring contractor resources are deployed to deliver maximum value for Front Store Merchandising. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, both internal and external, to align business objectives and provide essential analytical recommendations to colleagues at various levels (manager to VP). This role involves leading the discovery, design, and implementation of new capabilities that enhance merchandising priorities and unlock new value streams. Additionally, this position will ensure the accuracy and integrity of critical data (POS, Supply Chain, ExtraCare, Ingredient Lists) across third-party systems (Circana, Unify+, STIBO) enabling informed decision-making for merchants and supplier partners.

Required Qualifications

Successful candidate will exhibit:

  • 5+ years' of full-time work experience in a retail and/or corporate environment
  • 5+ years’ experience building high-performing teams
  • 5+ years’ experience engaging and inspiring teams to achieve both short-term, and long-term goals
  • 5+ years’ experience influencing without authority
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with aptitude for translating complex data into actionable insights
  • Notable interest in learning new tools and capabilities
  • An open and transparent communication style that cultivates trust and respect
  • Reliability and dependability that quickly builds credibility
  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience

Ability To:

  • Work independently based on strategic direction and adapt as priorities change
  • Provide recommendations that influence decision making of key stakeholders
  • Manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
  • Develop effective working relationships with diverse group of stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing via Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Conduct analysis leveraging large databases
  • Complete any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager
  • Travel up to 10%, based on the needs of the business


Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years' of full-time work experience in a retail and/or corporate environment
  • 8+ years’ experience building high-performing teams
  • 8+ years’ experience engaging and inspiring teams to achieve both short-term, and long-term goals
  • 8+ years’ experience influencing without authority

Knowledge of:

  • Retail merchandising basics (i.e., category management), customer behavior analysis, and market research
  • Project management competencies (Cost, Quality, Scope, and Time)

Skilled in:

  • Project Management, certification is desirable
  • Microsoft Office, specifically, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Technical tools, such as: Tableau, Circana Unify+, Numerator, Palantir Foundry, or ThoughtSpot are a plus, but not required



Education
 

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience; Masters degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
