Description
Proven IT’s IT Internship program offers hands-on experience in technical support, client service, and business technology operations. Over the course of this 8–10-week summer program, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and the Managed Network Services (MNS) team to learn how modern IT environments are supported and maintained.
This is a great opportunity for students pursuing an IT or computer-related degree who want to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting and gain exposure to help desk operations, device imaging, and client onboarding.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in monitoring and responding to Tier I service tickets (hardware, software, and access issues)
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Help stage and configure workstations and equipment for internal users or client deployments
- Support onboarding tasks such as setting up user accounts, imaging devices, and preparing desk areas
- Document common issues, FAQs, and troubleshooting steps to enhance the knowledge base
- Maintain inventory of IT hardware and supplies; assist with ordering and asset tracking
- Collaborate with engineers and project leads to resolve open tickets or escalate complex issues
- Participate in job-shadowing opportunities across departments to understand Proven IT’s service delivery model
- Attend team meetings and professional development sessions to strengthen technical and communication skills
- Complete a final project summarizing your contributions and learnings
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
· Curious, analytical, and eager to learn new technologies
· Strong communicator who can provide clear updates and follow-through on assigned tasks
· Detail-oriented and organized with a customer-service mindset
· Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
· Basic familiarity with Windows OS, Active Directory, networking concepts, and Microsoft Office Suite
· Prior experience with troubleshooting (through coursework, labs, or part-time work) is a plus
· Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms. The employee uses a computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment. The employee must be able to sit for a prolonged period. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
BENEFITS
GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE: After a 30-day waiting period, full-time employees (who work at least 30 hours per week) and their dependents, are eligible to enroll in health benefits utilizing the Cigna network. Health options include a choice of 2 PPO plans or a High Deductible Health Plan with employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). In addition, Dental benefits are available as well as a Vision PPO plan utilizing the EyeMed network. EMPLOYER PROVIDED LIFE/AD&D INSURANCE: After a 30-day waiting period, Proven IT provides a flat $25,000 Life Insurance benefit, administered by BlueCross BlueShield, to all full-time employees (who work at least 30 hours per week). Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit payments are determined based on the type of loss incurred and are payable up to the full Life Insurance benefit amount. Life and AD&D Insurance coverage amounts are reduced at ages 65, 70 and 75.
EMPLOYER PROVIDED LTD: Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance is an employer-provided benefit and provides protection from loss of income in the event that an employee is unable to work due to illness, injury, or accident for a long period of time.
