Job Description

Are you a Project Manager with a passion for sustainable livelihoods and climate change? Join SNV in partnership with the Global Evergreening Alliance (GEA) to develop a livelihood tree restoration programme (conditional to funding). This five-year initiative aims to generate livelihood, climate, and environmental benefits through tree planting, market development and plantation management options, creating income streams for small-scale producers. The programme will involve working over various provinces with various partners including the government and private sector. The programme will use a market-based approach to create and attract investments for increasing the off-take channels for tree products produced by smallholders, seek financial investments and payments by results through financial institutions, and strengthen smallholder producer participation in the value chain. The programme would work with a variety of smallholder organisations and on private land and community forestry and community protected areas. As the Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in consulting and collaborating with the country director, sector leader and sector teams, while leading, managing, and motivating a dynamic project team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and motivate the project team, partners, and relevant stakeholders, fostering collaboration and a shared vision.
• Develop the project implementation plan, including detailed annual work planning, Gantt Chart, budget allocation of Funds, and technical assistance work plan.
• Assign and review deliverables and activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgetary guidelines.
• Monitor and support activity work packages for partners and subcontractors, holding them accountable for milestones, deliverables, and financial/technical reporting.
• Conduct regular site monitoring visits, network with stakeholders, and promote the project's objectives through effective communication strategies.
• Manage internal project administration, reporting, budget utilization, and human resources allocation.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in management, business, forestry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, demonstrating a track record of successful results delivery.
• Proven expertise in value chain development, (agro)forestry models, investment strategies, and/or carbon projects with strong private sector engagement.
• Strong project management skills, able to effectively manage multiple partners and meet tight implementation deadlines.
• Good networking and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse organizations and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English communication.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience working in Cambodia will be highly preferred.
• Affinity with finance, financial institutions, and market-based approaches to drive investments and empower smallholder participation in tree product value chains.
