Job Description
Creative Art & Marketing Manager
The Creative Art and Marketing Manager has three critical roles, 1)Direct all creative design work, 2)Oversee outbound marketing, and 3)Ensure excellent execution of visual merchandising in all sales channels. In order to accomplish this, they lead a team comprised of both students and professionals that design, market, communicate, and execute strategic plans driving both digital and traditional traffic to our channels. The ideal candidate is a multidimensional and conceptual creative with proven experience executing campaigns that maximize financial outcomes.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Responsible for the quality of all design and creative art projects and oversees the look, feel and execution of all marketing campaigns
- Participates with and gives direction to a team of graphic designers, social media specialists, and the Merchandising Coordinator
- Ensures creative projects meet standards of excellence and are delivered on-time and within budget
- Communicates and collaborates with other internal teams to develop marketing concepts/strategies and manage the brand
- Works closely with on-campus partners to ensure fulfillment of projects (Athletics, Alumni, and others)
- Develops and executes customer segmentations and targeted marketing strategies designed to increase customer conversion
- Develops an annual marketing strategy and budget with timelines and key event data
- Conducts team meetings as necessary and ensures clear communication between team members
- Promotes the mission, vision and values of the Retail Services
- Meets with vendors to assess production capabilities and negotiate pricing/production costs
What qualifies you for this role:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing or graphic design AND 2 years of hands-on marketing project experience or equivalent years of experience.
- Ability to communicate, coach and mentor effectively
- Comfortable with contemporary design software (Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma)
- Excellent analytical skills including trend analysis, forecasting, metric based graphing
- Ability to read/interpret financial reports
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other teams
- Detail oriented and possesses strong organizational skills
- Able to manage time effectively and balance competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and inspire others
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing or graphic design AND 4-5 years of hands-on marketing project experience or equivalent years of experience
