We are looking for a Director of Operations to join our growing team! You will be responsible for the overall operational performance of assigned service lines. We are looking for a detailed-oriented leader with excellent communication skills to support our development. From developing and growing the strategic plan for the service line, to volume growth, you will facilitate vision, leadership and oversight, supporting departments and staff in successfully achieving department goals and objectives
The Community Health System is a locally owned, not-for-profit, public-benefit organization based in Fresno, California. Community is the region's largest healthcare provider and private employer. We operate a physician residency program with one of the nation's top medical schools – the University of California, San Francisco.

Responsibilities
In your role, you will:
- Serve as the business-focused subject matter expert to develop the service line. Incorporate into the program development plans information on demographic trends and opportunities at the local, regional, state and national levels inclusive of relevant benchmarks for performance.
- Be responsible for program development and the strategic plans and operations of the service line and new lines of service developed, inclusive of operating and capital budgets, staffing plans and physician recruitment.
- Evaluate, select and implement programs necessary to support the strategic direction of assigned service lines.
- Plan and direct the activities of all service line personnel to achieve objectives derived from the organization’s strategic plan for quality patient care, performance improvement, cost effectiveness and optimum utilization of all available resources.
- Provide tools and developmental opportunities for staff that are necessary for performance consistent with the organization’s mission and vision.
- Manage and enhance medical staff relations. Market service lines and meet with physicians to ensure preferences, needs and schedules are met.
- Enhance growth and profitability of program through increased patient volume, ongoing process enhancements and improvements, reasonable cost containment, and appropriate insurance and coding practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Science, Business, Public Health or related required
Experience
- 5 years of operational experience in a healthcare, financial services or related field required
- 2 years of management experience required
- Demonstrated experience managing a variety of statistics, analytic and data initiatives across clinical and business functions preferred
- 1 year of director level or above experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Current State of California Registered Nurse license preferred
