Position Summary:
The Director of Carbon Sequestration Partnerships is responsible for securing all land‑based rights necessary to develop and expand the company’s carbon capture and storage (CCS) portfolio. This includes leading the acquisition of pore space rights, pipeline easements, and other land‑related assets required for CO₂ transport and geologic sequestration projects.
This role will gameplan directly with ADM senior leaders to leverage and develop high-level relationships with local stakeholders. The role will have high visibility internally and externally as the lynchpin for executing a critical component of ADM’s growth strategy.
This role combines commercial strategy, negotiations, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate brings deep experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders with a proven ability to negotiate complex agreements that balance landowner needs and project requirements.
The ideal candidate will understand the importance of building durable relationships with landowners and will be relentless in creative consultative selling with key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
Land and Rights Acquisition

• Lead end‑to‑end strategy and execution for acquiring pipeline right‑of‑way easements, pore space agreements, and surface access rights.
• Develop and manage standardized templates for easement, lease, subsurface rights, and compensation agreements.
• Oversee title review, due diligence, and coordination with legal and survey teams.
• Ensure all agreements align with regulatory requirements for CO₂ sequestration and transport.

Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation

• Serve as the primary commercial interface with landowners and their representatives.
• Build trust‑based relationships through transparent communication and respect for landowner concerns.
• Lead negotiations to secure voluntary agreements that maintain project economics and timelines.
• Represent the company in community meetings, county briefings, and landowner outreach sessions.

Commercial & Strategic Support

• Develop compensation frameworks and commercial models for easements and pore space.
• Provide competitive intelligence on land markets, precedent agreements, and compensation norms.
• Recommend acquisition strategies for multi‑county/multi‑state pipeline corridors and storage complexes.

Qualifications:
Required

• 5-7 years of experience in commercial negotiation and market development.
• Experience engaging professionally with diverse stakeholder groups including rural, suburban, and commercial landowners.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building, and trust-building skills.
• Ability to travel to project areas and meet directly with landowners.

Preferred

• Prior experience land acquisition, right‑of‑way, or subsurface rights (oil & gas, pipelines, utilities, renewable energy, or CCS). Background in rural landowner engagement and agricultural communities.
• Experience leading teams or managing third‑party land services firms.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid over
