JOB SUMMARYIdentify, evaluates, executes transactions, and integrate community practices and providers into VUMC, in order to grow the health system under occasional guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess prospective community practices for fit with VUMC needs and practice suitability.
- Acclimate and lead alignment of newly acquired ambulatory practices to VUMC processes and standards. Maintain sensitivity to acquired practices’ local personalities and cultures. Identify successful best practices and translate back to VUMC as appropriate.
- Serve as primary point person and supportive problem-solver during the potentially vulnerable transition period for practices that are new to the VUMC family. Facilitate effective relationships between new practices and core VUMC operational teams.
- Assess practice readiness for integration across core operations and each of the VUMC pillars. Collaborate with practice leadership to define integration pathway including eventual handover to appropriate VUMC Operations team.
- Assist in the development of standard practice development models.
- Assist with other business development transactions outside of the community practices space as needed.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- Customer Service (Advanced): Demonstrates a high level of customer sensitivity and has shown insight into customer business issues. Demonstrates a work ethic where customers display confidence and trust in the service provided. Anticipates, plans for and meets increases in customer needs and service levels. Removes barriers and establishes procedures to improve organizational customer service activities.
- Documentation & Writing Skills (Expert): Is a recognized expert and authority in patient relations documentation. Occupies the position that is the last internal resource for support or direction. Expected, as a result of the position, to have the ultimate knowledge, control, influence, and/or jurisdiction in patient relations documentation. Demonstrates documentation industry leadership in outside professional organizations and forums. Takes a lead role in developing documentation best practices for the organization. Has successfully completed training resulting in advanced certification and/or curriculum fulfillment.
- Critical Thinking (Advanced): Demonstrates an intellectually sound set of skills to process and generate information and beliefs, and the habit, based on intellectual commitment, of using those skills to guide behavior. Sets the example in deriving rigorous and defensible conclusions for problems that are complex and challenging.

- Communication (Expert): Clearly, effectively and respectfully communicates to employees or customers.
- System Design (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of systems design tasks independently and without support from others for moderate to difficult applications, batch, on-line and event-driven. Has conducted all of the tasks and activities required to complete the systems design phase and participated in the process of fully developing and implementing the system. In terms of structured systems design, if applicable, has knowledge of all the tools of a structured design. Has applied structured design tools independently to the design of moderately complex systems.
