Job Description

The Reimbursement and Financial Compliance Manager is responsible for leading efforts to identify cost drivers that impact reimbursement levels and recommend corrective strategies. The Manager directs the preparation of annual patient revenue budgets, including contractual adjustments and bad debt reserves. This position is also responsible for ensuring Valley Health entities receive accurate payments from third-party payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus.

Responsibilities and Duties

Develops and implements systems to monitor regulatory changes affecting revenue streams.

Analyzes and communicates the financial impact of regulatory updates to senior leadership.

Oversees data mining and dashboard development using tools like HBI/HPM to support financial decision-making.

Manages the preparation and review of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for all hospital subsidiaries.

Serves as the primary point of contact for third-party auditors, consultants, and legal teams.

Resolves discrepancies, appeals, and audit findings in collaboration with Medicare/Medicaid intermediaries.

Provides internal consulting on reimbursement, fixed assets, and budgeting.

Establishes and maintains schedules for cost updates across entities based on materiality and operational needs.

Education

Bachelor’s in Accounting is required.

Experience

Five years of experience in healthcare finance and accounting is required.

Experience in Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer reimbursement is required.

Experience with computerized accounting software, spreadsheet programs, and word processing is required.

Certification & Licensure

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA is preferred.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, financial analysis.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex financial projects.
