Position Overview:
 

This position is accountable for overseeing the review, entry, and approval of transactional data for technical and code departmental employees into the electronic employee human resources systems. In addition, this position ensures the accuracty of employee records, both in electronic adn hard copy filing systems. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Oversees the entry of employee transactions into the electronic human resources systems and ensures they are completed by pre-determined payroll deadlines.
  • Reviews and gives final approval of employee transactions in the electronic employee human resources systems.
  • Resolves transactional discrepancies and handles revisions and corrections to employee records, if necessary.
  • Monitors employee leave of absence paperwork and ensures the documentation is in compliance with departmental rules.
  • Monitors personnel transaction procedures and formulates recommendations for improved efficiency.
  • Ensures the proper record retention of employee records is completed.
  • Completes special projects as assigned and provides reports to management as requested.
  • Contributes to a team environment within the unit, serving as a back-up when needed.
  • Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree majoring in business, human resources, public administration, or a related field PLUS two years of experience working in human resources processing transactions such as hiring documents, salary actions, or leave administration; reviewing confidential documents; verifying information; creating and analyzing reports and documents; or a combination thereof; OR eight years of experience working in human resources processing transactions such as hiring documents, salary actions, or leave administration; reviewing confidential documents; verifying information; creating and analyzing reports and documents; or a combination thereof.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to train employees on work duties.
  • Detail oriented with precision to accuracy.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.
  • Experience using mainframe systems or web-based programs.
  • Experience extracting and interpreting data to create reports.
  • Experience analyzing operating procedures and policies to automate processes.
  • Ability to organize and hand
