Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Azure, Terraform

Overview

Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG)  are seeking a highly skilled and focused Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the growing IT Infrastructure Engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing cloud based and physical systems essential for our daily operations. Focusing on implementing infrastructure and workloads using modern methodologies, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management at Fanatics Betting and Gaming. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of hands-on experience in Azure services, server management and cloud migrations.

Qualifications

• Engineer and Maintain:  Architect, build and maintain cloud infrastructure deployed in Azure using Terraform supporting retail and office locations. 
• Optimize and Secure: Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, security and cost-effectiveness using DataDog. Implement and maintain security best practices to meet compliance requirements.
• Automation First: Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform to manage the entire infrastructure lifecycle. Use Ansible for configuration management and orchestration.
• Collaboration: Create partnerships with our Workplace IT, Engineering and Security teams to enable shared roadmaps and solve technical challenges. 
• Cloud Migration: Plan and Execute the migration of on-premise workloads and applications to Azure and AWS.
• Develop and Script: Write robust Python automation scripts and microservices running in Kubernetes to aid in the management of Azure, on-prem, and AWS environments. 
• AWS Outpost Support: Maintain a fleet of AWS Outposts, coordinating with colocation data center providers, and with our AWS account team.
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure: Manage and Optimize an AWS Workspaces environment, to provide a secure and scalable company asset. 
• Participate in on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment
• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex technical deliveries
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including design, deployment, and optimization of cloud services
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and Ansible for configuration management
• Proficiency in cloud migrations and management of Windows Server operating systems
• Experience with backup, monitoring, alerting, patching, and high-availability architectures in cloud environments, leveraging cloud services and Datadog.
• Strong understanding of Azure EntraID, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 management
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders
• Experience developing and deploying microservices to Kubernetes

Optional Qualifications:

• Experience with AWS infrastructure and services
• Knowledgeable about Linux operating system management
• Familiarity with business continuity and disaster recovery best practices
• Firm understanding of integrating various identity solutions together, Okta, AWS IAM and Azure EntraID

The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; actual salary will vary based on location. *Salary Range: $120,000 - $205,000 per year (actual salary will be determined in part by a successful candidate’s geographic location).
