What to expect
In this role you will:
As a Network Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer, you would design, build, integrate, customize, and test software tools and vendor COTS that help monitor the typical infrastructure elements of network, compute and storage. Our expanding list of highly available and reliable infrastructure elements include but not limited to:
Hypervisors: VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V Network: Cisco ACI Fabric, Juniper SRX, F5 load balancer, Fortinet Firewall, Check Point firewall, Cisco wireless access points
Engage with the Network Infrastructure owners and Operations team to gather and analyze the technical and functional requirements to effectively monitor the availability, performance, and health of the infrastructure elements.
Helping the network infrastructure owners to define the key performance indicators related to the infrastructure elements and help collecting the appropriate metrics to calculate the KPIs.
Implement and manage network monitoring tools to track performance, availability, and security of network devices like Routers, Switches, Firewalls and Load Balancers.
Help build performance dashboards in relevant COTS relating to those KPIs.
Recommend efficient solutions considering the requirements and technical and business constraints.
Work with Swift’s security team to address security vulnerabilities and design solutions that are secure from the ground-up.
Follow change management processes to deploy and activate software and infrastructure configuration in live environments.
Provide timely bug fixes and workarounds for production problems, working closely with vendors and other teams within Swift as appropriate.
From time to time, perform technical feasibility studies to bring in new vendor products for improvement, replacement, and upgrade of existing COTS products
Provide technical guidance to customers and act as mentor to less senior team members. May give presentations to management and customers.
