  • Job Profile SummaryThe Head of Technology Testing & QA is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of the COE. This role ensures that products and services meet all risk, regulatory and compliance guidelines. This role involves setting strategic target state for the QE organization, manage budget, quality control and a culture of continuous improvement. The Head of Technology Testing & Quality Assurance is responsible for managing the COE that defines and implements IT quality assurance practices and procedures. This job leads of team of people managers who oversee analysts responsible for testing, evaluating, and validating IT initiatives and identifying issues in software or services. The team analyzes discrepancies in service or performance and makes recommendations for product or service updates.

    Depth & Scope:

    • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
    • Leads, mentors, and grows a team of QA engineers to deliver high-quality software
    • Develops and executes the long-term quality strategy aligned with business goals
    • Provides technical leadership in all aspects of software quality, including testing, automation, and performance
    • Ensures robust test automation practices are in place to increase efficiency and reduce manual testing
    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define and implement quality metrics and performance indicators
    • Identifies opportunities for process improvements in the software development and testing lifecycle
    • Stays current on emerging trends and tools in software testing and quality assurance to enhance team capabilities
    • Regularly reports on the status of software quality, key quality metrics, and risk assessments to senior leadership
    • Develops and maintains quality metrics dashboards to provide visibility into test coverage, defect trends, and team performance
    • Uses data-driven insights to make decisions on testing priorities, resource allocation, and quality improvements
    • Manages the budget and resource allocation for the quality engineering team


    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role
    • Proven track record of leading and mentoring software quality engineering teams in large-scale, complex environments
    • Strong experience with test automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices
    • Expertise in various testing methodologies (e.g., functional, performance, security, usability) and testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG)
    • Solid understanding of software development processes (Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps)
    • Strong analytical skills and experience with defect tracking systems
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
    • Experience with cloud-based applications and microservices architectures
    • Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter)
    • Ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment
    • Proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to drive change in a fast-paced environment
