We seek a conceptual thinker who is a business solution-oriented, pre-sales software engineer to join our sales team. As a Solution Engineer, you become a key team member responsible for creating custom demonstrations to present VisualVault’s capabilities to state and local Departments/Agencies.

You will collaborate closely with other members of the sales team to create the strongest possible demonstration of our product. The ability to analyze each prospect’s requirements and configure our platform to their unique needs is an essential capability.

It is important to have the ability to equate what is presented with how it solves their business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background, strong business process knowledge, and a passion for delivering brilliant demonstrations. Essential Job Functions

• Excellent critical reading and analytical skills to review RFP requirements and conceptually determine how to configure our system to meet their needs
• Ability to story-tell and create a vision
• Design and configure customized software solutions that address client challenges and achieve business objectives
• Work closely with software developers, sales support and sales, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the demonstration aligns with requirements
• Provide technical guidance and support to other SE team members
• Participate in and lead pre-demonstration meetings
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions
• Create solution diagrams and demonstration scripts
• Determine the implementation difficulty level of the requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Proven experience (5 years) as a Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or in a similar role
• Proficiency with Web Services, APIs and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.JS
• Familiarity with the AWS Cloud eco-system is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

• Ability to tell a story and persuasively present technical content in a manner that is easily understood and showcases our strengths and benefits
• Ability to translate technical concepts into content that is accessible to audiences with mixed levels of expertise
• Ability to work well independently to organize information
• Experience converting RFP/RFI business requirements into software demonstrations

Please note that this position is a hybrid role, requiring candidates to be located in Tempe, AZ, and work from our corporate headquarters 3 times per week. Candidates must be able to commute to the corporate office as needed. Candidates should be willing to relocate to Tempe, AZ if not already residing in the area, as the role will require regular presence at our corporate headquarters.
