Description

Position Summary: 
The Clinical Director of Glade Run Adventures provides administrative and clinical oversight of the Adventures Program, including equine-assisted, animal-assisted, and horticultural therapies. This role leads innovation, staff development, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. The Director is responsible for supervising program staff, ensuring excellence in service delivery, and aligning operations with Glade Run’s mission and strategic goals. This position reports to the Senior Director of Clinical Programs. *We are looking for this staff to start working part-time (3-6 hours per week) immediately to shadow the current Director and learn the basics of the position and then move into a full-time role by January 2026.

EDUCATION,  QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or other behavioral/human services science which must include a clinical practicum.
  2. Licensed  –  LCSW, LPC , LMFT, (LSW accepted but must be in process of obtaining LCSW) Preference given for licensed for 5+ years.
  3. Three to five years experience managing in mental health programs overseeing staffing, budgets, strategic growth, program collaboration.
  4. Five years experience providing therapy/counseling to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of differences and abilities. 
  5. Three to five years of providing clinical supervision and administrative supervision to staff.  Preference given for additional experience with administrative supervision of volunteers and interns. 
  6. Three to five years experience with equestrian and naturalistic environment management settings, understanding of animal behavior, welfare, and training standards. 
  7. Preference for specialized trauma training such as EMDR, DBT, TF-CBT models.
  8. Preference for understanding PATH, CHA, CECTH, Masterson Method, principals. 
  9. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  10. Must have acceptable PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI clearance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THIS POSITION
Strategic Vision and Implementation: 

  • Collaborate with the Executive Management Team and Clinical Director Team to contribute to agency-wide strategic planning.
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with Glade Run’s mission: “Founded in Faith and Grounded in Excellence, We Empower Individuals to Experience Personal Wellness and Growth.”
  • Champion trauma-informed, strength-based, and inclusive practices across the Adventures Program.

Compliance Monitoring:

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable Pennsylvania laws, OMHSAS regulations, MCO requirements, and CARF accreditation standards.
  • Maintain animal care standards in accordance with the PA Department of Agriculture and relevant certifying bodies (e.g., PATH).
  • Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and licensure documentation across all program areas.
  • The Clinical Director of Glade Run Adventures is required to complete Agency-designated trainings related to job performance annually.     

Supervision of Program Leadership Staff:

  • Oversee and support the program coordinators and therapeutic staff within the Animal-Assisted Therapy, Horticulture Therapy, and Equestrian Programs.
  • Conduct regular supervision, performance evaluations, and individualized coaching.
  • Promote a culture of professional development and continuous quality improvement.

Fiscal Oversight & Grant Coordination: 

  • Develop, manage, and balance program budgets, grants, and expenditures, with an emphasis on covering operational costs and ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Coordinate with internal programs (St. Stephen’s, Acute Partial, and Psych Rehab) to deliver programing and unique service offerings. 
  • Pursue and secure external contracts to deliver specialized group programming and expand access to unique services.
  • Oversee purchasing, facility costs, productivity, referral management, and personnel expenses.
  • Partner with the Foundation team to secure and manage grants that support core operations and program growth.

Staffing & Workforce Planning:

  • Provide clinical and operational oversight for the care and safety of animals, plants, and therapeutic setting.
  • Ensure proper staffing ratios and scheduling of both staff and volunteers as well as manage on-call schedules
