We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team under the leadership of the HR Director. The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations, and fostering a productive and engaging work environment. This position involves hands-on involvement in onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration and leave, training, and HR compliance.

What YOU will do:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with leave policy working as the liason with our third-party vendor.   Reviews case log for return to work and possible extension of leaves.
  • Responsible for all tracking, follow-up, and assisting employees with filing all leaves including ADA, STD/LTD, FMLA + Intermittent, Work Comp, Middle River LOA and referrals.
  • Coordinate Paternal Leave, Educational, Military, etc.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • This is a fully on-site position 

 

What YOU must bring to Succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with 5+ years of human resource management experience is required.  SHRM-CP a plus. Experience with Labor Unions a plus.
