Role Summary

Fanatics Collectibles is seeking an experienced, business-minded Sr Corporate Counsel, Digital Platforms (Global DTC) to support the global operations of our direct-to-consumer (DTC) digital platforms, including Topps.com, Fanatics Collect, Fanatics Live, and Topps Digital. This attorney will serve as an embedded legal advisor throughout the full product lifecycle — from early ideation and design, to development, launch, and iteration across Topps.com, Fanatics Collect, Fanatics Live, Topps Digital, and future DTC platforms on a global basis.

This role requires a lawyer who not only understands technology, digital commerce, and platform risk, but who also shares our passion for relentlessly enhancing the collector experience. You will use your legal expertise to help build world-class collector experiences that are innovative, compliant, globally scalable, and grounded in fan trust. Prior experience in-house in a similar role a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor for our global direct-to-consumer digital and mobile platforms (Topps.com, Fanatics Collect, Fanatics Live, Topps Digital) across global markets.
  • Partner closely with global product, engineering, design, marketing, privacy, compliance, and operations teams from concept through launch and lifecycle iteration.
  • Provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented guidance on product features, user experiences, customer engagement strategies, and go-to-market initiatives worldwide.
  • Collaborate effectively with international business and legal teams to support global expansion, local market adaptations, and cross-jurisdiction regulatory compliance.
  • Advise on issues related to consumer protection, e-commerce law, digital payments, subscription models, loyalty/rewards programs, content regulation, IP use, user-generated content, and influencer marketing.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements to support our global platforms, including technology agreements, platform partnerships, SaaS and licensing contracts, and vendor agreements supporting product operations.
  • Develop and maintain global consumer-facing terms and policies, including terms of use, platform rules, privacy-related disclosures (in coordination with our privacy team), sweepstakes/contest rules, and promotional terms.
  • Support privacy-by-design processes and advise on global consent, data governance, cross-border data flows, and other privacy and data-use considerations.
  • Monitor and interpret global regulatory developments affecting digital commerce, consumer engagement, digital content, advertising, and emerging technologies.
  • Help develop scalable legal processes, workflows, and governance mechanisms to support efficient, compliant product development across global markets.
  • Deliver internal training and guidance to business teams to promote strong compliance and product-risk awareness.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in at least one U.S. state (in-house registration acceptable).
  • 10+ years of legal experience, with at least 3 years advising on global direct-to-consumer technology, product, digital media, or e-commerce matters at a top law firm or in-house at a technology or consumer-facing company.
