Purpose

This role will help to support the Television Production Classes in Broadcast Journalism and Radio, Television and Film, as well as support the engineering team within Moody College.

Responsibilities

• Support 3 camera studio productions twice a week to ensure technical setup is to broadcast specification, assist student with various positions in 3 live production, including camera operation, lighting, audio mixing, IFB, video recording, playback, camera calibration. Provide wiki documentation on commonly needed actions in these areas.

• Ensure calibration and guidance for specialized post production labs for picture finishing. Coordinate operation aspects of the college advanced visual media labs and other designated spaces to minimize downtime and ensure usability of lab systems during open hours. Lab operation hours vary, but this position requires a standard workday with possible weekend or evening duties. Monitor the status of the facilities and sees to their maintenance as needed. Schedule facility use and activities. Provide wiki documentation on commonly needed actions in these areas.

• Instruct part time student proctors and facility users on system usage and recommends best practices in media production. Organize major installations, upgrades and solutions to automate and improve facility maintenance and administration. Provide documentation on computer lab policy, training and instruction materials on lab equipment, inventory and troubleshooting. Communicates with faculty for guidance and feedback on lab directions.           

• Act as second tier support for others on the technology team, providing specialized knowledge. Develop technology infrastructure that supports Technology Services. Collaborate with University, non-helpdesk and other third party technicians.

• Assist with development and maintenance of software builds in advanced visual media labs and environments, including editing, animation, visual effects compositing, motion graphics and 3D modeling, motion capture and other evolving technologies. Work with faculty and other technicians to develop and test the necessary software set. Provide wiki documentation on commonly needed actions in these areas.

• Other duties as assigned

                              

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production. Five years of experience in Media Production.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

3 Years Experience in Live Studio Production, Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, AVID Media Composer and Protools.

$59,000
