<p><u>Your mission</u></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Reporting to the Snr Silviculture Forester the incumbent in this position will assist with the management of forestry plantations in the respective area.</li> <li>Manage contractors (mainly silviculture but also roads and security)</li> <li>Conduct quantity, quality and safety audits</li> <li>Compliance to Safety &amp; Occupational Health Act &amp; FSC requirements</li> <li>Improve productivity through innovation and optimize cost efficiencies in all operations</li> <li>Production planning and adherence to APO &amp; Budget targets</li> <li>Ensure data integrity of the compartment information database</li> <li>Establish and maintain effective communication channels with Local Authorities</li> <li>Fire Protection &amp; Plantation Security Management</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><u>Your profile</u></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>BSc Degree / BTech or National Diploma in Forestry</li> <li>Specialized knowledge related to forestry, harvesting and logistics</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years Silviculture experience dealing directly with the contractor running his/her own WPU</li> <li>Minimum 3 years firefighting experience and managing firefighting operations</li> <li>In depth knowledge of Silviculture, experience in the management of contractors and sound knowledge of FSC principles</li> <li>Good communication, interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure</li> <li>Computer literate with Data Management &amp; GIS Skills</li> <li>Fire Training; Fire Boss III; Simulation; ICS (Int &amp; Adv)</li> <li>Soil conservation &amp; land rehabilitation</li> <li>Work study and Productivity</li> <li>Innovative / Continuous improvement mind-set </li> <li>Community engagement and social forestry skills</li> <li>Ability to adapt to change</li> <li>Good leadership skills</li> <li>Valid Code EB Driver’s license</li> </ul> <p>  </p> <p> <u>Our offer</u></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Location: Dukuduku</li> <li>Duration: Permanent</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p id="custBenefits">Benefits: Company retirement; Health benefits; Learning &amp; Development </p> <p><u>Get in touch:</u></p> <p>We strive to create a culture that inspires our people to reach their full potential.
