Overview

Align seeks a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 4–6 years of corporate accounting experience and deep expertise in Sage Intacct to support our growing IT services organization. This role will lead the Sage Intacct ERP implementation from a Accounting Team user perspective, working closely with external software consultants for the configuration and internal stakeholders to ensure a successful rollout and ongoing optimization.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting, and is a power user of Sage Intacct. This role is well-suited for someone with a passion for improving systems and processes while contributing to high-quality financial reporting.

  • This hybrid role reports to the Controller and will primarily work remotely, with 3 days per week in our Iselin, NJ office.
  • Full-time position with base salary in the $110,000–$115,000 range (commensurate with experience), full benefits, paid training, and performance-based bonuses.

Key Responsibilities

Sage Intacct Implementation & Optimization

  • Serve as the accounting team lead for Sage Intacct implementation, collaborating with internal teams and external consultants.
  • Manage configuration, data migration, testing, validation, and training from a user/functional perspective.
  • Partner with software vendors to integrate relevant software (e.g., ConnectWise, Procore, Avalara, Microsoft Report Designer, Brightgauge, SmartConnect) into Sage Intacct and improve and automate accounting workflows
  • Post-implementation, serve as the go-to Sage Intacct power user, identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and reporting.
  • Ensure full and effective use of core modules (GL, AP, AR, Projects, Expense, Cash Management, Reporting).

Core Accounting & Reporting

  • Work closely with the Controller to support monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations, including cash, intercompany, and deferred revenue accounts.
  • Validate AR and revenue data across systems to ensure consistency with the general ledger.
  • Support audit preparation and participate in internal and external audit activities.
  • Additional special projects and  team support as needed.

Process Improvement

  • Work with the Director of Accounting to enhance internal controls and documentation during and after ERP deployment.
  • Recommend enhancements and design reports and dashboards using built-in Sage Intacct tools.
  • Assist in Avalara integration, tax compliance, and sales tax reconciliations.

Financial Planning & Analysis Support

  • Conduct variance analysis on actuals vs. budget.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting, insights, and support for executive decision-making.
  • Assist in building financial models for forecasting and cash flow analysis.
  • State registrations, annual filings and compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA-track a plus.
  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in an IT services or professional services firm.
  • Strong experience with Sage Intacct (implementation and/or daily use); experience leading or supporting ERP implementations from the user side is required.
  • Demonstrate fluency in Sage Intacct and ability to guide system usage and training post-implementation.
  • Meet high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and transparency in all reporting.
  • Maintain clear documentation of workflows and ERP
