Position Summary

The Senior Pathway Specialist is a student success-centered leadership role responsible for providing comprehensive academic and career pathway programming and resources to current and prospective Dallas College students pursuing transfer degrees, Dallas College bachelor’s degrees, associates of applied sciences degrees, certificates, and TRUE (Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education) and Continuing Education pathways. The Senior Pathway Specialist is a collaborative leader responsible for managing academic pathway relationships with multiple internal and external partners to facilitate the student pathway journey from start to finish. This role works with academic partners to build robust and sustainable, industry-aligned pathway processes and cohort-based registration, using subject matter expertise to reduce barriers and student bounce, provide timely and relevant responses and solutions, correctly register students in cohort-based programs, ensure accurate course planning in career and transfer pathways, and shepherd course substitutions. They deliver accurate, School-specific academic, career resources and current and prospective student pathway programming that promotes student pathway selection, persistence, credential completion, and employment. The Senior Pathway Specialist is an expert in the programs of study in their assigned School with specific knowledge of the career alignment, regional job landscape, co-ops and internship requirements, industry-aligned certifications and licensure, starting and median salaries, and opportunities for career advancement for degree plans in their assigned School. In addition, this role supports academics and associated faculty in School-specific programming and initiatives both inside and outside of the classroom. The Senior Pathway Specialist leverages technology to effectively input, monitor and track School and pathway specific data that supports Division, School, and College goals. The Senior Pathway Specialist collaborates closely Success Coaches and associated faculty to collectively provide appropriate interventions that promote timely on-track credential completion, job placement and transfer. The Senior Pathway Specialist supports the Associate Dean of Pathway Success by providing leadership to School-aligned team members and by proactively ensuring that the specific needs of students considering or enrolled in pathways in their assigned school are met. Successful candidates will understand the unique needs of CTE students who are seeking certificates and degrees or are pursuing Continuing Education training to re-skill or up-skill for high demand jobs in growing industries and the unique needs of students transferring to a university.

Senior Pathway Specialists will support School-specific pathway planning, persistence, and completion for Dallas College students.

  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of accurate, school-specific pathway career mapping for Dallas College students.

  • Responsible for providing precise credential and career support for student-selected pathways.

  • Responsible for collaborating with faculty, Success Coaches, marketing and key stakeholders to develop and promote pathways for all students, including

  • special populations such as non-credit, dual credit, first-time in college, developmental education, part-time, full-time, veteran, ESL/ESOL, transfer-in and Adult

  • Basic Education.

  • Responsible for serving as the liaison for faculty and Success Coaches with wrap-around support for student success.
