Digital Consultants is seeking a qualified Network Administrator III to provide support for our customer at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. Serve as an information systems administrator performing a wide range of operating system/executive software and processing hardware support tasks associated with the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of information technology and information systems


Duties to include:

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, configure, update, fix, replace, and optimize NRL Code 1900 servers and ancillary equipment.
  • Support disaster recovery and backup of systems on the network.
  • Monitor status and optimize system performance, parameters, and storage capacity and report failure to meet operational requirements to the designated NRL Code 1940 representative within 12 hours.
  • Maintain a Domain Name System (DNS) to include updating tables, maintaining records of registrations, and address resolution for Uniformed Resources Locator (URL) to Internet Protocol (IP).
  • Maintain an Active Directory (AD) to create and manage accounts.
  • Administer an email server configuration.
  • Set up, maintain, secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and restore print services for local and network printers.
  • Set up, maintain, secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and restore a virtual environment.
  • Set up, maintain, secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and restore SQL Server databases and their host servers.
  • Support file transfer operations.
  • Support a Host Based Security System (HBSS) which includes the anti-virus, host intrusion detection, rogue system detection, asset configuration compliance, data loss prevention, and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) policy auditor modules.
  • Maintain mobile devices (both wired and wireless) in the infrastructure.
  • Support NRL Code 1900 Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
  • Provide technical assistance for software release management.
  • Support NRL Code 1940 Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in accomplishing Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and report any violations of DOD policies and procedures to the ISSO.

Requirements

  • Clearance: Secret
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • Certification: DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security +) and/or CISSP

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of ten (10) years as a network administrator which includes experience in the design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer networks.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of security tools, techniques, and procedures and experience in implementing, configuring and monitoring security and network tools.
  • Experience with the architecture, installation, operations, and maintenance of Windows active directory, MS Exchange at the Enterprise level, e-mail filtering at a hardware and software level, certificate-based authentication including Common Access Card (CAC) hardware and software, remote access, and client/server computing in a switched Ethernet environment.
  • Physical: The candidate, with or without reasonable accommodation, must physically be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; lift objects up to 20 pounds; require frequent physical hand dexterity and repetitive movements.
