WCG Plate Mounter

POSITION SUMMARY: Mount printing plates for all jobs to ensure they arrive at press in a timely manner to maintain optimum press efficiencies.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
• Understand job ticket information to determine special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
• Prepare the cylinders and plates for mounting
• Understand the plate filing system
• Understand printing plate care and handling to ensure quality plate-mounting
• Program plate mounter for proper step and repeat of printing plates
• Mount plates and QC check for the correct copy, layout, unwind, and that plates are 100% press-ready
• Complete all of the scheduling priorities prior to shift end
• Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
• Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
• Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
• Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area
• Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
