Job Description

Being a Product Owner in our agile setup entails the following overall responsibilities:

• Be the voice of the customer's needs to the Payments Platform team
• Collaborate with Architects, Engineering Managers. Leads to come up with the solution
• Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Analytics teams to ensure the solution is built holistically
• Continuously explore the customers’ wants, needs, and preferences.
• Know the stakeholders – Product design and implementation must also reflect the needs of non-customer stakeholders. Business Owners, Lean Portfolio Management, Product Management, System Architects, and fellow POs, for example, rely on the cadence and quality of the team’s output. The PO identifies key stakeholders and balances their needs with those of the customer.
• Identify the problem to be solved – Good products solve specific problems that are worth solving. Identifying problems that customers want to be solved is the first element of design thinking.
• Develop whole-product solutions – Solutions that address a range of customer needs are more valuable than those that target a single need. The PO aim to deliver whole-product solutions by understanding the desired customer experience
• Guide Story creation – it is the PO’s responsibility to ensure that stories are well-formed and aligned with product strategy.
• Prioritize backlog items – Achieving continuous value flow requires that the highest-value backlog items are delivered in the shortest sustainable lead time and in the right sequence.
• Support Architectural Runway – the PO make space in the backlog to support the implementation of Architectural Runway in collaboration with System Architects and craft enablers and work with stakeholders to establish appropriate capacity allocations.

Qualifications

Skills, motivation and that little personal twist make you succeed

• Good communication skills, written and verbal in German and English
• French language skills in spoken level of higher
• Knowledge of basic card payment processes, preferably also from Mobile based payments
• Acquirer and issuer service domain knowledge
• Confident and skilled at handling customer relationships
• An international mindset and ability to see solutions rather than problems
• Solid understanding of technology and confidence in the role as a specialist, including ensuring progress and focus with yourself and your partners
• Able to link business with IT solutions
• Interest to learn and explore options and invent solutions from best-of-breed products and services in the payment market
• Proven achievement in launching payments/financial technology and products
