We are looking for a senior first line risk manager who wants to realize this ambition with us. In this role you will report to the Expert Lead Risk and Strategy.
You will be part of the risk and regulatory team, working alongside 5 colleagues. Together, we are responsible for handling relevant topics within the Investments Tribe. As part of the Growth Area, we actively support the growth ambitions of the product squads.
Roles and responsibilities
It is our challenge to make investing as easy and understandable as possible for our customers, but in the same time make sure we meet all the regulatory requirements. To achieve our ambitious growth objectives, we are looking for a Senior Risk manager with a thorough understanding of the risk & regulatory environment concerning Investments who wants to help us put ING Investments further on the map in the Netherlands.
The key responsibilities and contributions of a Senior Risk manager in the context of Investments at ING are:
- Risk and regulatory topics: You take charge of risk and regulatory matters related to investments. Examples include interpreting and translating an AFM research question for other teams and participating as a risk expert in projects related to the implementation of European legislation on sustainability.
- Contributing to regulatory areas: You actively contribute to various regulatory topics, including but not limited to: MiFID II, SFDR, PRIIPS and MAR.
- Point of contact for 2nd line of defense: You serve as the primary contact for the second line of defense, which includes legal and compliance teams.
- Collaboration across teams: You collaborate with different teams both within and outside the tribe, your goal is to guide them through the complex regulatory landscape.
- Building and sharing knowledge: As part of the risk and regulatory business expertise team, you actively contribute to shaping a vision of proactive risk management. You play a crucial role in building and disseminating knowledge within the organization.

As an experienced professional in the financial services industry, you bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Here’s a summary of the qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience: You hold a bachelor’s degree and have over 5 years of experience working in consulting or at leading financial institutions.
- A good command in English and Dutch.
- Safe and compliant Banking: Your specialization lies in safe and compliant banking, particularly within the investment domain. You understand the intricate regulations and risks inherent in this sector.
- Process optimization and change: You have extensive experience in driving process change and optimization. You believe in results-oriented thinking and can swiftly translate concepts into action.
- Balancing legal lequirements and customer Interests: You excel at finding the right balance between legal and regulatory requirements while prioritizing customer interests. You identify opportunities to achieve our growth ambitions.
- Effective communication and collaboration: You simplify complex matters and engage people effectively. As a positive-minded collaborator, you actively seek opportunities for teamwork and innovation.
