About the role
<p>WSP India is currently seeking an <strong>Engineer – Structures</strong> for Australia Mining Infrastructure Projects (Materials Handling Infrastructure). They shall be responsible for engineering design of structures in compliance with WSP Engineering and Client Standards. Previous experience in an EPCM environment in the O & G, Power plant, Chemical process plant, Mining processing industry is an asset.</p><p>A Team player and willing to work collaboratively with a motivated and highly successful team in Australia. <strong>The position will be for Mumbai location.</strong></p>
<p>This role is for an Engineer- structures on mining projects. </p><ul><li><p>Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, fitness-for-service assessments, repair recommendations, and technical documentation to support lifecycle asset management.</p></li><li><p>Perform structural integrity assessments of existing industrial assets, including stacks, pipe racks, modular structures, access platforms, and buildings.</p></li><li><p>Conduct engineering evaluations using advanced inspection techniques, including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), digital twins, structural health monitoring, and predictive analytics.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, company standards, industry regulations, and asset integrity management requirements.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, operations, maintenance, and site personnel to resolve complex structural integrity challenges.</p></li><li><p>Drive continuous improvement by implementing innovative engineering solutions, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.</p></li><li><p>Identify structural risks, evaluate failure mechanisms, and develop practical mitigation strategies to ensure safe and reliable asset operation.</p></li><li><p>Provide technical leadership and expert guidance on structural integrity, inspection planning, maintenance strategies, and risk-based decision-making.</p></li><li><p>Support quality assurance activities by reviewing engineering deliverables and ensuring technical excellence across all structural integrity projects.</p></li><li><p>Participate in internal and external technical forums to promote knowledge sharing, professional development, and engineering excellence.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to asset integrity and risk management programs, ensuring long-term reliability, safety, and operational performance of critical infrastructure.</p></li><li><p>Verify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field construction.</p></li><li><p>Interpreting and designing from a variety of different domestic and foreign structural building design codes.</p></li><li><p>Develop familiarity with WSP standard drawings, specifications, general practices, procedures, Client specific standards.</p></li><li><p>Prepare reports, designs, and drawings.</p></li><li><p>Redline drawings for CAD Designers and review updated submittals for accuracy.</p></li><li><p>Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and team members.</p></li><li><p>Must complete a high-quality self-check of own work with efficiency. Shall follow internal QC processes. </p></li><li><p>Reporting progress of work assignment to immediate supervisor. Understands the project schedule and budget requirements. </p></li><li><p>Communicate with internal peers and project team and required to answer questions regarding deliverables. </p></li><li><p>Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required. </p></li><li><p>Coordinating with Australian lead offices as per project requirement. </p></li><li><p>Actively participate in the design and provide input to the design team throughout the design process. </p></li><li><p>Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to Lead Engineer or project manager in AU.</p></li><li><p>Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies. </p></li><li><p>Support the company’s approach to sustainability. </p></li><li><p>Be able to communicate in a multi-disciplinary project team. </p></li><li><p>Be willing to learn and be polyvalent. </p></li><li><p>Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP service to clients.
