Director, Employee Experience

About the Role:

Cityblock is seeking an energetic and inspiring leader to drive Cityblock’s culture through the employee experience, as the day to day owner of employee engagement, recognition, DEIB, and the new hire experience. 

Responsibilities:

• Employee Engagement/Listening 

  • Lead cross functional team to launch employee engagement survey, analyze and prepare leadership and leader results at various levels of the organizations,  and support executive team in decision making process around data-informed decisions coming out of the survey results. 

  • Develop quarterly pulse or listening approach based on annual survey results, and track and measure progress on follow-ups from main engagement survey. Listening strategy will evolve to include regular weekly/real time pulse surveys as well as focus groups. 

  • Create tools and awareness for leaders to leverage engagement results to improve their own team engagement and share results across the People team to drive improvements. 

• Employee Recognition 

  • With VP of Talent, responsible for development and execution of organization's recognition strategy, including the launch and ongoing design of the social recognition platform in partnership with the Total Rewards/Benefits team, and other recognition programs (annual awards, etc) to support the culture, values, and tenure. 

  • Measure the effectiveness and impact of programs and communicate on the connection between culture, recognition, and business outcomes.

• DEIB 

  • Support the organization's strong culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, inclusive of leadership of the team supporting the organization's employee resource groups (ERGs) and DEI training, Cityblock culture programs, and ensuring belonging continues to be a key part of the employee experience at Cityblock.

• New Hire Experience

  • Responsible for design and weekly delivery of New Hire Orientation, in partnership with the Learning and Growth team, who own onboarding. 

  • Responsible for ensuring the new hire experience is warm and welcoming and the culture is felt in a virtual environment. 

  • Strong connection with Talent Acquisition and the Employee Value Proposition.

• Facilitation and Coaching

  • As a member of the Talent Development leadership team, facilitate programs and leadership development as a part of our community of practice of facilitators and coaches. Executive coaching as needed and able. 

Requirements for the Role:

• Bachelor's Degree

• 8 years of experience in employee engagement, culture, wellness, leadership development, or relevant experience

• Experience with organizational assessment tools and methodologies

• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills 

• Experience in developing and implementing effective and scalable solutions

• Demonstrated analytical capabilities, a process improvement mentality and ability to influence others with data-driven recommendations

• Resilient and eager to tackle multifaceted challenges, comfortable in the gray

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is: 

$132,900 – $165,000
