Director, Validation

• Build and Lead a team of SOC Validation Engineers which is capable of delivering complex high quality silicon which is confident to overcome any challenge and delivering zero defect auto grade SOC.
• Experienced professionals in post -silicon validation and Pre – Silicon emulation of digital SOCs. Solid experience in validation of complex MCUs and MPUs.
• Detailed understanding of Post Si flows of Digital and Analog Validation along with PE/TE. Experience of driving multiple post silicon teams across functional and characterization areas to build strong validation strategy.
• Strong understanding of system level validation to build robust validation strategy involving hardware, software, firmware and external components / equipment.
• Solid understanding of Key Peripherals: 10G/25G/40G/100G Ethernet, DDR/LPDDR 5x/5/4x/4, High speed SERDES, PCIe Gen 4/3, USB, CAN-XL, SPI, I2C, UART, TIMERS, etc. and validation/characterization aspects.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and cross sites to define comprehensive Silicon Validation strategies across all port silicon functions.
• Drive Hardware/Software infrastructure to deploy scalable Silicon Validation plans. Automation focused and capable of implementing AI/ML to drive efficiency in validation to reduce cycle time, efforts, improve coverage and mindset of zero escape to customers.
• Good knowledge of microcontroller architecture and instruction set. Strong experience in C programming language and Assembly Language.
• Good Influencer and strategic decision maker for the team and continuously driving innovative ideas into achievable goals. Effective communicator with an ability to work with executives efficiently and fits well in matrix Org structure.
• Effective communicator with an ability to work with executives and efficiently collaborate with global and cross functional teams. Vast experience of lead role and hands on validation engineering, to overcome all technical and technological challenges of the team.
• Create project plan, resource planning, equipment planning. Manage project execution as per plan, risk mitigation plan, manage dependencies, report status. Demonstrates critical thinking, lead the team in debug and work with cross functional teams to do root cause analysis
• Hiring engineers with strong validation and debug skills, coaching and developing organizational talent, performance monitoring, build and sustain a cohesive team.
• Technical driver for a product line; participates in a large BL product roadmap / strategy.
• Contributes to thought leadership of NXP. Strong links with customers, universities and other providers of technical knowledge that are leading in the relevant technical domain.
• Influences technical strategy to drive innovation, e.g., products, technology and/or patents) that consistently contributes to significant revenue and profit. Enables new business opportunities.
• Creation of current or future value through research, development, profitability / cost improvement, and/or capital avoidance that influences a large BL.

Responsibilities:

• You will provide leadership and management for validation leads, be the PoC for Engineering leads, review and manage metrics and milestones across programs, ensure leads are collaborating and working with partners, develop and implement methodologies, and review strategy for programs.
• Work independently and provide technical direction for junior team members. Interface with and support Design, Verification, Applications, Product and Test Engineering, Marketing, and other design organizations.
• Guide and design validation architecture and frameworks.
• Architect: emulation strategy, validation framework, establish process for content, verify conformity with standards, and drive convergence.
• Develop and improve automated validation  setups and scripts. Bring up validation test boards, setups, and independently collect data and debug issues. Extensive experience in post silicon validation, able to automate the validation process to reduce the overall validation cycle time.

Qualifications:

• Requires at least 15 years of related progressive experience.
• BSEE required, MSEE preferred
• Candidate will be recognized as an industry wide thought leader and technical authority by both internal and external community, with advanced knowledge of theories and concepts to evaluate current methods and approaches and create alternative ground breaking innovations that impact future products and business strategy.
