About the team:
The team’s core responsibility is developing and executing the Commercial Bank’s Sustainable Finance strategy by delivering data driven insights, pioneering thought leadership, and fostering cross-functional collaboration across Capital One. Its goal is to drive sustainability-related Commercial activity in line with Capital One’s resiliency and growth objectives as well as the interests of customers, shareholders, employees, and regulators. Key workstreams include supporting risk management focused on known and emerging financial and credit risks, benchmarking external factors that will influence the evolving strategy, and identifying and executing on new opportunities for solutions that better serve our Commercial Clients. A Senior Business Analyst on the Commercial Sustainable Finance team applies strategic and analytical skills to their work. The Senior Business Analyst will track competitor, regulator, and client positioning, manage Sustainable Finance reporting for Commercial, and work closely with the Head of Sustainable Finance and internal stakeholders to identify and develop our data and reporting needs to support evolving strategic initiatives and potential public disclosures.

Specific responsibilities & competencies include, but are not limited to:
Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on data analysis and intellectual rigor
Market analysis & forecasting: Analyze sustainable finance performance trends (internal and market trends), investigate variance, frame up risks and opportunities, anticipate future outcomes, and make recommendations
Quality and clarity: Pursue standardization and clarity around how we analyze data, and support improvements in our data infrastructure to be more robust and reliable. Deliver error-free work and crystal clear insights to enable rapid response efforts and efficient decision-making. Scope of work examples include building, owning & maintaining Commercial Sustainable Finance Dashboards, owning data and calculations to support climate-related disclosures, and managing regular reporting to Commercial leadership

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
At least 1 year of experience in analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
