Job Duties:
The Finance Division supports the Agency's mission by providing quality financial management, administrative support, procurement, and facilities management services. All financial support services are delivered to maximize the funds entrusted to the Disability Service Agencies by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
We are seeking a Budget Analyst Sr. To prepare assigned DSA biennial budget(s), participate in securing legislative approval of the budget, and to ensure proper management of the budget, working closely with administrative and management staff and with accounting and fiscal technical staff.
The incumbent will perform a number of highly technical functions including budget development, budget execution, advanced fiscal analysis, revenue and expenditure projections, and budget status analysis on an agency-wide or individual program level.
In addition, this position will serve as backup for various functions within the finance unit, including General Accounting.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
- Generally accepted accounting principles, governmental budget techniques, financial analysis and reporting, and financial and program audit requirements.
Skills/Abilities:
- Skilled in collection, compilation, and presentation of data in both oral and written form.
- Ability to interpret and apply Federal and State laws, rules and regulations relating to fiscal matters, design and carry out highly technical analytical studies, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, on technical subject matters, and use computer spreadsheet technology for financial and budget tracking and forecasting applications.
- Ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
Additional Considerations:
- Training in business or public administration, as well as experience in government accounting, and/or financial analysis.
