Job purpose
As a Credit Intern, you’ll play an instrumental role in helping the credit team with customer interaction and credit related responsibilities. Our team’s core mission is to provide service to internal/external customers, manage the accounts receivable portfolio to protect profitability, and partner with our Salesforce to find ways to creatively sell more products. The Credit Intern will report directly to the Mid Atlantic Regional Credit Manager.
Duties and responsibilities
- Build reporting using data analytics to support business initiatives
- Support sales teams by evaluating and extending credit to customer base
- Learn lien/bond rights to support job sales
- Project work as needed
- Monitor and update Credit information on existing customer base
- Understand the Accounts Receivable portfolio through direct involvement with customers and sales teams
- Negotiate and secure arrangements for payment with delinquent accounts
Qualifications
- Must be, at minimum, rising into your junior year in college
- Business majors preferred
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiating skills
- Basic accounting and finance knowledge is required
- This individual can be located in MD, VA, or DC
- Interest in and ability to contribute to a team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to think critically to solve daily issues
- Upbeat, curious, creative, and learning attitude
- Proficient skill with Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Working conditions
- Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes
- Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available company offices within respective markets
Physical requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard
- Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email
