About the role

The Amazon Security Learning team creates cybersecurity awareness and proficiency across the Amazon network. We set the bar for security culture, paying particular attention to inclusion and accessibility for people of varying disability experiences. We produce engaging technical and non-technical training, programming, and tooling to support the mission of a more secure workplace and world. We do so with disruptive learning modalities, messaging, and competency-based training.

Key job responsibilities
As an integral part of the team, the Sr. Technical Training Specialist will create technical training material for internal customers. They will ensure the training raises the security bar, exemplifies the voice of Security, and empowers customers to have confidence and deeper knowledge in Security. Creating engaging security training programs, thinking outside the box, process automation, and championing inclusive security culture are also key functions of this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of instructional design or course/tool/lab development for technical audiences
  • 3+ years experience ADDIE, SAM or other course development models
  • Security domain knowledge
  • Experience designing, writing content, and evaluating eLearning, job aids, video, or webinars
  • Proficient with a variety of eLearning development tools including Articulate Storyline
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design best practices
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently
  • A passion for creating engaging and effective learning experience

  • Cloud computing knowledge
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with translation or localization of content
  • Experience with a large-scale LMS and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Proven track record for being innovative, creative, and effectively deal with ambiguity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
