You will be an integral part of a global infrastructure team, providing follow the sun support to Visa’s systems.</p><p> </p><p>This senior automation engineer, at Staff Systems Engineer level is within the Storage Infrastructure Reliability Engineering Team. The engineer, a highly motivated individual contributor will be responsible for designing and developing effective solutions per SRE-based principles. As part of the team, you will be required to own key modules, perform code and design architectural reviews, suggest best practices and implement design and development standards. This position will support, certify, and document storage and backup infrastructure, as well as serve as a Level 2 escalation point for existing infrastructure. This position is expected to interact with Systems, Database, Engineering, Asset Management, Product Development, Operations, Audit and Risk, and various groups within Technology. This role must have strong communication and analytical skills.</p><p> </p><p><strong>The Work itself:</strong></p><p>•            Responsible for scripting and automation tasks as they pertain to periodic metrics gathering for reports</p><p>•            Responsible for automation of infrastructure tasks to reduce repetitive or time-consuming processes, utilizing SRE principles and practices and an infrastructure as code methodology</p><p>•            Develop solutions using available tools and technologies and assist the global team in problem resolution by hands-on participation</p><p>•            Engage technical workshops with cross-vertical Technology partners for cross-vertical integration in software development</p><p>•            Provide level 2 support for storage infrastructure in the form of changes and incident response</p><p>•            Be scheduled On-Call to support the infrastructure and our systems.</p><p>•            Willingness to work on shift days (Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00AM to 6:00PM local time)</p><p> </p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><p><strong>The Skills You Bring</strong>:</p><p>•            Extensive experience working on automating, monitoring, mitigating SLOs and infrastructure tasks</p><p>•            Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline architecture (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoProj, Codefresh)</p><p>•            Extensive experience using scripting languages (Golang or Python), with configuration management tools (Ansible/Tableau), service registry and discovery tools, infrastructure orchestration tools (Ansible/Tableau)</p><p>•            Must have the ability to gather data from various sources to create ad hoc, proactive, and custom reports as well as recurring dashboards</p><p> </p><p><em>This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.
