Description

Stockton Hall is looking to recruit a catering assistant to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours a week.

Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, depending on clinical need, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
  • Assists catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures.  
  • Under direction, takes responsibility for parts of the catering operation.  
  • As part of the catering team, the role holder will be required to ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures. 
  • Amends the services to suit the needs of the site.

What you'll bring to the role

The role requires basic numeracy and literacy skills, along with an understanding of basic food hygiene principles. While previous experience in a catering environment is not necessary, as full training will be provided, a willingness to learn and follow hygiene standards is essential.
