Job Summary
PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 Staff Intern – Graphic Design for the Corporate Communications Dept.
This job involves supporting the in-house creative team by producing print and digital materials that align with brand standards. Using Adobe Creative Suite, the intern will assist with layout design, asset preparation, and visual content development. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented student looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional design environment.
This position will be Hybrid Fixed.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
- Support the design team in producing internal and external materials using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Assist with layout design and updates for brochures, safety signage, digital screens, and job aids.
- Resize, export, and organize digital assets for print and web distribution, ensuring file accuracy and consistency.
- Follow existing brand guidelines to maintain visual consistency across all materials.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for visual content, including infographics and campaign visuals.
- Prepare presentation decks and simple animations or motion graphics using Adobe After Effects (if applicable).
- Organize and maintain project files and asset libraries, ensuring folders are up-to-date and accessible to the team.
- Conduct image sourcing and basic photo editing (cropping, color correction, retouching).
- Support the creation of templates (e.g., flyers, posters, social graphics) for use by non-design staff.
- Take direction and feedback from senior designers and adjust designs accordingly while learning best practices.
Job Specific Qualifications
- The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Graphic Design or Visual Communications and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029.
- Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026.
- PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
- Incumbents must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.
Desired:
- 3.0 GPA
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, and color theory
