CX+EX Team - Intern Job Description (Experience Strategist Track)

Program Duration: Summer 2025

We are seeking a highly strategic and business-minded intern to get hands-on experience with the Key Design Studio capability within the Client & Employee Experience (CX+EX) team. The successful candidate will have a passion to work closely with business partners across the bank to develop and integrate strategies to enhance the overall client experience. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain project experience by turning client and employee insights into tangible, measurable change. They will use proven design-thinking techniques to generate ideas and plans to support the business’ strategic objectives. This person should have a desire to learn new skills and methods and have an interest in experience opportunities specific to the financial sector.

About the CX+EX Team

The CX+EX Team are passionate advocates for KeyBank’s clients and teammates. We combine transformational experience capabilities across research & analysis, experience strategy, design & development, and employee experience. These capabilities are used to collaborate across the bank to create relevant and differentiated experiences that drive client, teammate and business outcomes.

The Key Design Studio specifically brings together strategists, service design, product design and UX writing skillets to improve or reimagine the experiences of KeyBank’s clients’ or teammates’ from concept to creation using a human-centered design 5-step framework of Discovery, Analysis, Ideation, Prototyping and Testing.

 Competencies

• Strong relationship-building and influencing orientation with a keen ability to identify business needs and recognize opportunities to partner
• Draw learnings from various resources (client research, business objectives, implementation plans, financials, etc.)
• Ability to apply baseline level of business acumen in interpreting/summarizing insights to align with strategic priorities
• Strong structured thinking skills with the ability to break down complex problems into frameworks, approaches and recommendations
• Compelling written and oral storytelling with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high quality work products, including initiating, tracking, and reporting progress
• Collaboratively focused and able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders the CX+EX Team
• Familiarity with client experience theory, concepts and methodologies is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint

Education

• Current Sophomore (graduating 2026) or Junior (graduating 2025)
• Current Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree or Graduate degree program in Customer Experience, Business, Hospitality, Marketing, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, Communications, Journalism, Finance, Logistics, Computer Science or other related degrees

Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $25 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000.00 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.
