Accounting Specialist (Billing)

Basis Partners is searching for an Accounting Specialist whose passion is centered around the meticulous attention to detail, coordination, and organization required to prepare and process billings in a professional services, civil engineering firm.

The Accounting Specialist will work directly with the CFO for preparation of routine client invoices and accounting support for project managers. The preferred candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in general accounting and billing practices for professional services contracts and projects and will be familiar with contract financial management.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide financial management support for the firm’s projects and contracts.
• Gain proficiency with our financial and accounting software (BigTime is our accounting software platform).
• Prepare monthly client invoicing, ensuring required support documentation is present and complete.
• Document and report on aged accounts receivable.
• Prepare, submit and acquire approvals for expense reports & client required forms necessary for invoices.
• Review and submit subconsultant billings & internal reimbursables.
• Verifying timekeeping and expense entries in BigTime to minimize errors.
• Interacting with colleagues, clients, and contractors in a professional manner.

Requirements

• Prioritizing and following up with others to meet deadlines.

• Coordinating with others to accomplish tasks, while building strong relationships.
• Coordinating communication flow between stakeholders for timely resolution of problems.
• Following established processes and procedures with an exceptional level of accuracy and detail orientation.
• Proficient in MS Office and a wide variety of office support and administrative functions.
• Expertise in Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills with positive and friendly disposition.
• Is comfortable working with upper management.
• Microsoft Power BI experience preferred but not required.

Compensation range: $25.00-$35.00 per hour (FLSA Non-Exempt). This is an estimated pay range. Final pay rate will be determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, job related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
